Marty Holoubek and his friends Mei Inoue and Shun Ishiwaka have teamed up to release a new song, “Shizuru,” for TrioⅡ today

Up-and-coming bassist Marty Holoubek released his new single “Shizuru (feat. May Inoue & Shun Ishiwaka)” today, Wednesday, May 29th.

Marty Holoubek is originally from Australia and is currently based in Tokyo, where he is the co-leader of SMTK and Hishakaku Quartet. This is a new song by TrioⅡ, a band he formed with his friends Inoue Mei and Ishiwaka Shun. TrioⅡ has had many live performances since releasing their album in 2021, but this is their first release in two years.

Marty Holoubek composed the song, and chose the title because he liked the beautiful sound of the Japanese word “sizzle.” The song is an up-tempo rock tune, and the technical and thrilling solo developments of each part showcase the ensemble that can only be achieved by the three of them.

TrioⅡ, led by Marty Holoubek, is also preparing to release new works in the future. Let’s look forward to further news.
