Jinmenusagi x DubbyMaple’s first collaboration single, “I Don’t Need New Friends,” was released today, Saturday, May 17th, in about four years.
It has been about four years since the EP series “EMOTAPE” released between 2020 and 21. This work, in which two more close friends are held hands again in advance, is a song that evokes an upper-tempo dance tune, while also reciting the killer phrase “I don’t need new friends” that is too socially incompatible. He plays out the discomfort of connections in modern society that lurks in everyday life. The artwork was created by Wilfried Shingo (HEZVRS).
The sharp and humorous lyrics typical of Jinmenusagi and the versatile flow interact with the beat of DubbyMaple, where melancholy and warmth reminiscent of the dawn of the Internet, are all a glimpse of the communication with friends who are in perfect harmony even after meeting for the first time in a while.
The silent rejection between Jimesagi and Dabimepo is involved in an accomplice relationship, and preaches the modern “difficulty in life” and invites the twisted man to silent sympathy. Although the times and environments have changed, they present listeners with the unwavering values that are unique to both.
The two are also working on a solo album. I look forward to future developments too.
