DOGO releases its first single "CQCQ" - Aka NGS x Matsumaru Chira's independent project

It has been announced that DOGO, a Tokyo-based four-member group, will release their first single, “CQCQ” on Friday, May 23rd.

DOGO is a band that started in 2021 as a fictional rock band by Yokoyama Takemaro, who was active as a jazz musician in Chicago from 2018 to 2023. They began live performances as a four-member band in November last year, and their current live members are Takemaro (Vo./Ba.), Ishii Shunsai (Communication), Daigimi Umi (Dr.), and Sano (Gt.).

In addition to attracting attention last year’s first album, TV, Dramatic, produced by Yokoyama Takemaro alone, last month he also released a live recording of one-shot recordings from “REIMEI SESSION,” headed by “Studio Reimei,” run by SAGO (SAGOSAID).

This work is said to be a match for their destructive live performances. It was produced in Studio Noah using the band’s Mastermind Takemaro style multiple recording method. Takemaro is the song, bass and guitar, and Ogimi Umi, an ally who has supported DOGO’s sound from the days of “TV, Dramatic,” recorded in Chicago in 2021, to the present, will be in charge of drums and cowbells. Guest musician Daimimoto was also invited to the conga, and the mix was done by Don Nafe.

DOGO is scheduled to perform live performances in various locations in the future, and on Thursday, June 12th, DOGO will be holding its first independent project, “KNIFE,” at Shimokitazawa SPREAD in Tokyo, featuring aka NGS x Matsumaru Kei and Deadbeat Painters.

Furthermore, DOGO and Yokoyama Takemaro have signed a contract with the American music publishing company, Killphonic Rights. In addition, it has been decided that Ireland-based booking agent Vagabond Booking will be responsible for booking DOGO’s European and UK areas. Vagabond Booking has been in charge of Boy Harsher, Drab Majesty, Black Dice, and Japanese artists such as OOIOO and maya ongaku.
