Saku (reading: Saku) released his new single “Down” today, Wednesday, May 28th.
Saku is a unit consisting of Higuchi Kayako and Wakabayashi Jun, who announced their name change from Peanut in the bath last December. This is the second single under the same name in about five months, and is said to be a song that was inspired by Hiatus Kaiyote and Thundercat, and was produced by fusing elements such as hip-hop, jazz and fusion. The song centers around multi-layered vocal harmonies and distinctive riffs of classical guitar, and despite its alternative sound, it is a song that is compiled with catchy melody.

[Saku Comment]
This song, which will be the second single as “Saku,” is packed with the music we want to play now. The tight beat and detailed basslines form the song’s skeleton, while bold play is added in the second half with chord progressions. It’s a song with many highlights to listen to, so I hope you enjoy it after listening to it over and over again.
