Tohji has released his new album, “zero-two” today, Friday, May 30th.
Tohji continues to pave the time with advanced initiatives, including her first arena solo tour last year, held at Pia Arena in February this year, and the release of the documentary film “Tohji Pia Arena the Movie” from Friday, June 20th. This is the second in a series of films that have continued since the previous film, “zero-one.” This is a group of experimental works that capture the “intermediate progress” of Tohji, who continues to carve his inner journey, with the impulse of destruction and rebirth.
The sound, which intersects rough energy with a dreamy euphoria, has a darker and more alien touch than ever before. This work can be said to be a record of the process, illustratively engraving the current location of an artist who is keen on sharing the flow of creation itself, rather than a “complete work.”
Following the previous work, the main collaborators feature Big Animal Theory, Gentoku and Xansei, and while the powerful energy of the bass is a string, they are mixed with floating melodies and cutting beats. The entire story is filled with a dynamic and post-apocalyptic worldview.
In addition, the music video for the album’s song “Terminator” will also be released today. With its destructive sound and refined visuals, this work presents the “next world” depicted by Tohji.
In addition, following the recent Hong Kong performance, Tohji is currently holding a tour of three cities around the world, traveling around New York and London. He is also scheduled to appear on a Zepp tour of four cities in Japan and on “SONIC MANIA” in August.
