Wau’s new disco project, Nerd in Disco, streaming second single

Nerd in Disco has released their new single, “ILLEGAL FUNK (feat. Funky Nasty Kidd)” today, Wednesday, June 4th.

Nerd in Disco is a new project by 01sail and voquote (Kota Matsukawa) of Creative Collective/label Wau. Their first single, “Smooth,” released last month, has been picked up on multiple global playlists, including Spotify’s “Fresh Finds” and “Fresh Finds Dance,” and has attracted attention from both domestic and international, with over 20,000 monthly listeners right after their release.

This second single is a disco tune reminiscent of Supershy and Mayer Hawthorne, with a retro groove that brings the atmosphere of the present. In addition, featured artist Funky Nasty Kidd is a Funk Mad Scientist, the reincarnation of his ally Raylowgh Anno.
