The second album by FOTOS, a band formed by saxophone player Akihiro Nishiguchi, has been released.

It has been announced that FOTOS, the band formed by saxophone player Akihiro Nishiguchi who leads the jazz scene, will release their second album “PALINDROME” on Wednesday, July 17th.

In addition to releasing four albums so far, he has also been active as a tour member of MISIA, Takuya Kuroda (Tp.), Maasa Kato (Pf., Comp), Kunhei Nakabayashi (Bass.), Jun Furuya ( Akihiro Nishiguchi is also a member of groups such as Pf.) and Eri Chichibu (Pf., Comp). Last year’s release of the album “Chaos” with Tenors In Chaos, a unit with Tomoaki Baba (sax.) and Yu Riku (sax.), is still fresh in my memory.

This is FOTOS’ first album in about four years. The members are the same as the previous album, pianist Hakuei Kim, who has performed with Nishiguchi many times in recent years, drummer Sota Kira, Australian bassist Marty Holoubek, who also plays in Hino Terumasa and Ishiwaka Shun’s band SMTK, and trombone player James Macaulay, who has been working with Marty for a long time. The unchanging members have strengthened the ensemble’s construction, resulting in a more original, energetic work where popness and avant-garde conflict.
