Singer/Rapper Mezz will release his new single, “Touch (Prod. Audiot909)” today, Wednesday, June 18th. The MV was also released.
This album follows “Friends Meet in the Night,” released in April, and is a song that teams up for the first time with audioot909, a producer who pursues the dance music of South Africa, Amapiano. By crossing the elements of R&B and Afrobeats with the world-famous Amapano, the world-acclaimed hit “Water” has been sublimated into Japanese pop music. While inheriting that groove and space, the story is finished with a unique interpretation that blends the humidity of Tokyo and the sensibility of the streets.
The track is characterized by its bass intonation and beautiful melody lines typical of Audiot909, and while it has the strength to swing the floor across borders, it gives a sense of “a perspective from Japan.” It combines lyrics that allow you to freely move between Japanese and English using mezz, and soft, flowing vocals.
The music video will be directed by Skid, a creative team who has also worked on footage for mezz’s “Money From The Dirt,” saccharin’s “Shisoukaseki,” and Eiji’s “IGNITE.” The film is a work that allows you to experience the atmosphere and the slowness of the beat in the music through video.
