gai seki releases the third single “Niad Pump” from wau

Percussionist gai seki’s new single, “Niaad Pump,” was released today, Friday, June 20th, by Wau.

Gai Seki is also known for her support and recording work both domestically and internationally, including Shirota Yu and Voision Xi, and for her activities at the enthusiastic percussion group LA SEÑAS. Until the previous work, he was producing combos, but for this work he worked on everything from beatmaking to performances and mixing. It also features Shunsuke Kumairi, an ally of LA SEÑAS and a balaphone player. It creates a unique groove where indigenous rhythms and modern sensibilities combine to create a unique groove.

This work, which incorporates the floating feel of dubs and the organic soundscape of UK jazz, centered around the UK afrobeat scene, represented by Onipa and Hagan, is an ambitious work that gives gai seki a clear shift towards a new production style.
