Nerd in Disco has released its first EP, “NERD IN DISCO BEGINS,” today, Wednesday, June 25th.
Nerd in Disco is a disco project created by Kota Matsukawa and 01sail, a central member of Tokyo-based creative label/collective wau, which features reina, an R&B singer selected by Spotify’s RADAR: Early Noise 2025.
His debut song “Smooth,” released in May, has been selected for multiple global playlists on Spotify. It surpassed 20,000 monthly listeners immediately after its release, attracting attention in the blink of an eye.

The EP contains a total of four songs, including two previously released songs. The lead song, “Good Times,” is a “nostalgic and new” discon number that perfectly intertwines retro synth sounds and modern arrangements.
