Kroi's new song "HAZE" is the theme song for the movie "Kowloon Generic Romance."

Kroi’s new song, “HAZE,” has been chosen as the theme song for the movie “Kowloon Generic Romance,” which will be released on Friday, August 29th.

Kowloon Generic Romance (serialized in Shueisha/Young Jump) is a popular manga with a total circulation of over 1.5 million copies, and is the latest work by Mayuzuki Jun, author of “Love is Like After the Rain.” Following the TV anime adaptation, the long-awaited live-action film has been decided.

A love story between Kujirai Reiko, who has no memory of the past, and Kudo, who has a past that no one can reveal. The closer the two get, the deeper the mystery of Kowloon. When Reiko and Kudo find the truth, they are forced to make the ultimate choice. In order to recreate the fascinating city of Kowloon, which is the setting for this film, the film was filmed in midsummer in Taiwan, where the old cityscape reminiscent of Hong Kong at the time was still in its midsummer location. A world filled with nostalgia, depicts sad mystery and exquisite love romance.

In addition, this trailer has been released, which uses Kroi’s “HAZE.” As mentioned in their comments, “I drew the song while cherishing the “nostalgia” and the “oriental atmosphere,” the song expresses the nostalgic world of this work with a sound that combines unnuited vocals and nostalgia and newness. It adds even more colour to the story.

After watching the original work and video works, we drew the songs while cherishing the “nostalgia” and the “oriental atmosphere” we felt.
In particular, I liked the Kowloon cityscape in this work, and imagined the smell and humidity of that city, and decided on the sound and lyrics based on the feeling of getting into the city.
