MNNK Bro. is an unusual unit consisting of world-renowned artist Murakami Takashi and rapper JP THE WAVY, who is also attracting attention both domestically and internationally as a fashion icon.
This third single is produced with the theme of “mononoke made,” a new project by READYMADE designers Hosokawa Yuta and Murakami Takashi. Since READYMADE comes from the artistic technique “Readymade” of Marcel Duchamp, a representative French artist of the 20th century, known as the “father of contemporary art,” the music video is studded with elements of Marcel Duchamp and his other name (pen name).
The music video was directed by Spikey John. With the concept of a fashion show inspired by Hosokawa Yuta, all models wear the collection of the new project “mononoke made” and are equipped with antithesis to pre-made products, and models of various races, genders and figures will appear, which overturn the image of a fashion show. In addition, Marcel Duchamp’s masterpieces include “Izumi” and “Large Glass”, which signed “R.Mutt” for men’s urinals.

This time, it is a conceptual music video featuring the brand READYMADE, the founder of contemporary artist Marcel Duchamp and Hosokawa Yuta.
The director is Spikey. This MV was extremely difficult, and it took 18 months to produce it. But that’s why it’s a music video I’m confident in. READYMADE Hosokawa has set up a costume and concept. WAVY’s song is one of the most outstanding, simple and positive songs from the MNNK Bro. project! I’m in charge of concept and visuals.

This time, the song was based on MNNK MADE by Murakami, READYMADE, and designer Hosokawa, and I learned a lot about the production aspects this time.
I’ve always loved READYMADE and have worn it, so I’m happy that thanks to Murakami, I’m able to be involved in songs from my favorite brand again.
The music video was replaced by Spikey John, who photographed MNNK Bro.’s “Mononoke Kyoto,” and created the worldview that Murakami and Hosokawa think.
