Nara-based rapper 8 releases new EP “22nd Century Plan” and releases MV for “Kakumei Mae Night Train”

Nara-based rapper 8 will release his new EP “22nd Century Plan” on Wednesday, May 20th. The music video for the song “Kakumei Mae Night Train” from the same work has been released.

8 still remembers the viral hit of the song “Kimi to Chikyu de” from their 1st EP “Boku” released last year. “22nd Century Plan”, which is his first EP in about a year, is close to the anguish and conflict that 8 himself has felt in his own life, the contradictions and anxieties of his generation, and the sense of impatience that has no purpose, while also expressing all the same worries. Contains a total of 8 songs interspersed with messages that convey the wish to the people of the world, “Let’s live together in this era.”

The album was produced by KNOTT, a producer unit based in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture, who have supported 8’s activities since the beginning. The sound work is a mix of various genres such as blues and alternative rock based on hip hop, and each song shows the melancholy of 8’s words and melodies.

The music video was directed by Leo Murasaki and is a highly narrative visual piece.
