BAOBAB MC released their new single “konomama” on Friday, July 11th.
BAOBAB MC is a native of Hikarigaoka, Nerima, Tokyo and is also known as a member of JABBA DA FOOTBALL CLUB. This song is based on old-fashioned R&B/Soul, but also has an alternative hip-hop feel that shines with its unique experimental nature. It is produced by self-producing and self-mixing, and mastering is done by SUI. The lyrics are lined up with words that urgently depict the fluctuations of emotions and the fleetingness of time, such as, “I want to stay like this, but I’m tied up in a tight way with a shitty logic.”
Although it was a sudden question, this work was already there right after the album released in August last year. In response to the changes surrounding her afterwards, he replied, “When I think about whether my painful, sad, frustrating feelings and happy memories will disappear one day, the moment and moments will make me love even if they have negative emotions. I wish it would never come true, but I can’t help but sing.”
