This year’s theme is “Questioning yourself.” From the interviews with players aiming for the Inter-High School Championships, we can see how they are day-to-days facing their own abilities vigorously. Are you growing better than you did yesterday, getting better, and getting stronger? I’m repeating myself asking myself questions. I wanted to express their mentality and imagery.
The message I wrote to the players was, “I know your body. Your strength.” No matter how hard they practice and take on the tournament with confidence, the players say they still feel anxious and nervous just before the match. At times like that, I wish there was one more word that would help you feel unwavering courage and confidence. There is a person in front of you who knows more than anyone else’s power that is certainly fulfilling in your own body right now, exactly the power that is truly fulfilling. We aimed to create a message that makes your body, which is proof of growth, feel like a charm. Pocari Sweat supports players’ daily lives as being able to bring out their potential and abilities. In that sense, I hope to be able to deliver a cheer that is typical of Pocari Sweat through this message.

I look forward to the harsh daily practice and the light that will be visible beyond. I wrote Lyric with the image of players participating in the Inter-High School Championships, as they grow up and down. We tried to express a story that is not just beautiful things that only players could understand.

I grew up drinking Pocari Sweats on a daily basis in a family where there is always a Pocari Sweats at home since I was a child. When I found out I could do Pocari Sweat’s songs, the whole family was happy as if it were their own. My father had muttered from the beginning of my career as an artist, “I hope you’ll be able to do commercial songs and more,” so I remember that when I told my father about the offer, he looked a little proud and happy.

I didn’t think that the experience of devoted myself to competition as a skater was a direct result of becoming an adult and I felt very grateful. However, I have recently been feeling more and more that I think that the way I perceive and think about things, and that experiences unconsciously create the person I am today, and that I am using them.
When I was making this song, I also devoted myself to skateboarding, and I imagined that time, and expressed the feeling of frustration when I was injured and the excitement when I made a new technique. My past self is definitely creating the present.
