ODD Foot Works releases new song "Johnny & Ayako" that resonates with current Latin pop

ODD Foot Works released their new single “Johnny & Ayako” today, Wednesday, July 16th.

ODD Foot Works is scheduled to release their new album, “ODD FOOT WORKS 2” in the late summer. Following the first single of 2025, “NO NAME DANCE,” which was released at the end of May, this work is produced by Arimoto Kiichi. According to Arimoto, the beat “hand-on to create a distorted yet fast-paced atmosphere” is decorated with a Latin-based mood, including the guitar decoration, creating a sense of liberation that has a more stoic feel than a linear pleasure, moving the listener’s feet and neck. They develop sound productions that resonate with current Latin pop artists such as Bad Bunny and J Balvin, for example.

Enokimoto Shun’s bass moves sexy while leaning tightly against the beat, reliably supporting the groove’s center of gravity, and Pecori shows off a rap that is released from meaning, along with Flow, who rides the beat at his own whim. The lyrics, “I followed the song title that came up with a second on a whim, filled it in with freestyle with verses at a time with impulses,” seem at first glance a series of absurd word choices, but in this song, it even gives the origins of Pecori’s rapper, leaving an unforgettable afterimage to listeners.

On Monday, August 4th, a special performance called “ODD Naked” will be held at Billboard Live TOKYO, where a luxurious and experimental performance will be performed in a special arrangement that is different from usual. After the album was released, the first solo performance will be “ODD FOOT WORKS2-Run-Up-” at Shibuya WWW, Tokyo on Wednesday, September 24th.
