SSW KeNN, a Hokkaido native, will release his new single, “Deutou” today, Wednesday, July 16th. A short version of the music video has also been released.
KeNN started his music career by uploading cover works to YouTube. Their activities began in earnest in 2024, and their single “Something Wrong” released in May this year was featured on Spotify’s playlists in 10 Asian countries, and attracted a number of power plays on major radio stations such as J-WAVE, interfm, and HBC Radio, which became a hot topic.
This new album will be released in about two months, and is based on KeNN’s own real-life experience of innocent and clumsy love, as the idiom “Dessert no Gotoku” expresses, “When I face someone I love, I get nervous, I can’t show my usual self, and I want to talk to him but then run away.” The song is pop and has more developments than the previous work, and it cleverly expresses the protagonist’s changing attitude, even in addition to the lyrics.
Following the previous work, the production was performed by up-and-coming Korean artist Young_Vibe (aka yuuUuuu), and MON/KU, who is active as a solo artist and also in the soundtrack music for the anime “Kiju No. 8.” The music video is directed by Saito Kotaro.
