Tokyo-based SSW AKIRA will release their second album, “usual” today, Wednesday, July 16th. The music video for the song “Convenience Boy” has also been released.
AKIRA attracts attention for its eclectic sound style that freely mixes hip-hop and R&B. The track-making of this work was attended by DJ/producer TOSHIKI HAYASHI (%C), who also works on live DJs and music productions for chelmico, as well as producers such as sugarloaf, 5OW, TOVI., and karakusa beats. The structure is centered around a mid-tempo, with slow bounce and groovy swing interweaving, and is designed to scoop up the shadows of emotions.
The music video released, “convenience boy,” is provided by TOSHIKI HAYASHI (%C), and is a chilled R&B number that delicately depicts the uneasy atmosphere that oozes through the silence of the night. The music video features a visual visual of the sadistic sound.
In addition, a release party for this work will be held at Nihonbashi B by The Brooklyn Brewery in Tokyo on Saturday, August 30th. Advance tickets are also on sale.
