A new music festival, “HAKUBA Mountain Festival 2025,” will be held on Saturday, September 20th and Sunday, September 21st, set in Hakuba Village, Nagano Prefecture, Japan’s leading international mountain resort.
With the Winter Olympics coming up next year in Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, this festival, set at Hakuba Jumpdai, the sacred site of the 1998 Nagano Olympics, is filled with the desire to pass on the “place” where sports enthusiasm was once born, to the next generation through music and culture.
With an overwhelming view of the Northern Alps, which is at an altitude of 3,000m, you can enjoy live performances and DJ performances by domestic and international artists, as well as outdoor activities that can be enjoyed by adults and children, such as balloons, paragliding, cycling, and athletics. At night, you can reset your mind and body with a starry sky filled with stars, local cuisine made with local ingredients, Shinshu soba noodles, and a hot spring with six sources. It is said that it will offer two days where you can fully enjoy the charm of Hakuba, both day and night.
There is also a wide selection of accommodation options, including hotels, inns, guesthouses, cottages, and camping. It seems like you can stay comfortably in any style, whether with your family, friends or solo. Accommodation facilities in Hakuba Village can be searched and booked from tourist sites. There is also plenty of public transportation from outside the prefecture to the venue, including trains and express buses. You can also come by car, and there are parking lots and buses in the village, making Hakuba Village a comfortable access environment.
The lineup currently announced includes 13 overseas acts such as Alfie Templeman, Phony Ppl, and Jon Sa Trinxa, as well as Captain Vinyl, DJ KOCO aka SHIMOKITA, Kan Sano (Band Set), Lavt, Naoki Serizawa, SAMO, Sisi, YAMARCHY, Hirai Dai and Yabe Yuna. Expectations are high for future announcements.
