It has been announced that MAKARA, a neo-moram band based in Thailand and Japan, will release their new album, Ngong Ngong, on Friday, August 8th.
After a single “COCO” released in June this year and a mini tour in Japan, MAKARA has been attracting attention as a new driver of folk/alternate/jazz with a modern approach. While retaining the scent of traditional moram (traditional singing music developed mainly in the Isan region of northern Thailand and Laos), it has established a unique sound that sticks to expressions that are not bound by genre.
This is the fourth album for a band, and it will be their first album since the new formation has been launched, featuring drummer Masa Isus from Japan and dancer Boxer, and it is said that luxurious artists and others will be participating. Details will be announced at a later date.
In addition, starting Saturday, September 13th, a tour “NgonG NgonG RELEASE TOUR JAPAN” will also be held, which will take part in 12 cities across the country. Co-starring artists will be released at a later date. Advance tickets have begun today.
