The music video for the collaborative single “Lucky” by Nulbarich, Sunny, and UMI, released today, Friday, May 24th, has been released.
This is the latest work from the music project “Pokémon Music Collective,” which delivers new music to the world based on the game sounds of the “Pokémon” series. Nulbarich, a band produced by SSW’s JQ, and Sunny, a popular producer who works with many top artists including K-POP and J-POP, have teamed up to produce this work, and they have invited UMI, an American-born Japanese artist who also made a buzz with the single “wherever ur” in which she performed with BTS’s V, as a guest. The background music of the “Pokémon Center,” a facility in the game where you can restore the stamina of Pokémon tired from battles, is cited as an impressive hook.
The music video was jointly produced by MAPPA, the animation studio behind “Jujutsu Kaisen,” “Attack on Titan: The Final Season,” and “Chainsaw Man,” and Contrail, a newly established animation film studio centered around the production staff of “In This Corner of the World.” This is the first time that MAPPA has worked on a “Pokémon”-related work, and it is a heartwarming animation featuring characters based on the three artists, JQ, Sunny, and UMI, as well as Pokémon such as Lucky, who shares the same name as the song, as well as Dragapult and Empoleon.

The Pokemon Center is like a home to anyone who plays Pokemon.
Sunny and I created this song because we wanted to put lyrics to the melody that plays at the Pokémon Centers.
Furthermore, various miracles happened one after another, and I was able to have UMI as a guest, which made the end result even better than I had imagined, and I gained another very important song. Please give it a listen.

For me, who has played most of the series since elementary school and has grown up with Pokémon, it was a great honor to be involved in this song with Nulbarich and UMI. I wanted people to think of places to relax like Pokémon Centers, music, and people when they hear this song, so I worked with songwriters Jean Castel and Rose Tan to create it.
