Lilniina releases new song “ANATA” A song that depicts friend-like love for “You”

Lilniina will release her new single “ANATA” today, Wednesday, July 30th. The MV was also released.

This song depicts friend-like love for a more personal and sensitive “you” that is neither “darling” nor “honey.” Lyrics that simultaneously give both sweetness and bittersweetness, such as “the teeth shape that bites a caramel” and “the “you” you want to call it more than a darling or honey,” are truly intimate with Gen Z’s love sensation.

The production will be done by up-and-coming truck maker NEMLAND. The story is based on the UK Garage, which has been attracting attention again in recent years, and by freely riding Lilniina’s rap and vocals in the light groove, it has established a unique style in which Y2K-like pop feel and hip-hop attitude are coexisting.

In the music video, Lilniina appears wearing a yukata dress in a seaside or summer festival scenery. In a worldview that symbolizes the Heisei girl culture, the story vividly depicts the emotions that resemble the cross between love and friendship, such as “I’m just like King and Jesse,” “I don’t do anything about my duties, I like a faint smile.”

The artwork and music video direction are self-produced by Lilniina herself, following the previous work. As symbolized by the phrase “Please My Melody, Adult, Adult, But I want to do an adventure like a teenager,” this song embodies the realistic emotions that sway between adults and children through video and sound.
