Taiwanese SSW Andr’s Japanese 7-inch single “Cat & Mouse / Swapping Socks” will be released on Wednesday, August 6th.
Andr is attracting attention for his cinematic sound that combines guitar and ambient sounds, with lyrics that mix Chinese and English, centered around indie pop and alternative R&B. His debut song, “Night Lotion,” was selected as Spotify’s “Best of RADAR New Forces 2023,” and in 2024 she released her first full album, “shhh, it’s under my bed.” Since then, he has expanded his career in Asia, including co-composed with Japanese producer AGO, appearing in Australia’s SXSW Sydney, and the US’s SXSW, expanding his career in Asia. He was also nominated for the “Best Newcomer Award” in the 36th Kinme Shou (GMA).
This 7-inch single will be paired with the above-mentioned “Cat & Mouse” and “Swapping Socks”, featuring Thai singer Mindfreakkk, who was also included in the album “shhh, it’s under my bed.”
Furthermore, to commemorate the release of this work and the 5th anniversary of the label shop “Oroman Shoten,” a pop-up will be held at Eslite Life Nihonbashi in Tokyo from Friday, August 1st. The 7-inch single will be pre-sale at the same pop-up venue.
