BTS’ RM released his new album “Right Place, Wrong Person” today, Friday, May 24th. The music video for “LOST!” was also released.
This is his second solo album and features a variety of musicians and creators, including Little Simz, DOMi & JD BECK, and Moses Sumney, who are all credited as featured artists, as well as never young beach from Japan, Oh Hyuk from the Korean four-piece band HYUKOH, San Yawn from Balming Tiger, and Kuo from the Taiwanese five-piece band Sunset Rollercoaster.
“LOST!” is a song that conveys a message of hope that even if you are lost, it might be okay if you are with friends who are by your side. The music video depicts RM’s journey to escape the maze of thoughts with a touch of humor. RM is tasked with singing “LOST!” on a famous TV show, but as soon as he sings the first bar, he is lost in other thoughts, and everything around him starts to change bit by bit. In his confusion, RM is accompanied by various inner emotions, such as optimistic emotions and cynicism, each of which takes the form of a character.
RM wanders through the maze-like broadcasting station with them, eventually finding the last emergency exit and successfully escaping. He wakes up to the sound of applause as they escape, but before he knows it, the “LOST!” stage has ended, and RM cannot hide his confusion as the moment he wandered through the maze feels all too real. RM manages to escape, but the four emotions that accompanied him are still trapped in the maze, leaving him with a lingering feeling.
The music video, which contains an imaginative story and visuals, was directed and written by Aube Perrie of France, who is famous for directing Harry Styles’ music videos.
