Shonan-born singer-songwriter Swagcky releases new song “Survive” arranged by grooveman spot

Swagcky, a singer-songwriter from Shonan, released his new single “Survive” on Wednesday, May 29th.

Swagcky was discovered by Osaka-based singer-songwriter Hiplin and began producing music in 2020. He has been gaining attention for his distinctive baritone voice and lyrics that are spun from his own life experiences.

This 10th single was arranged by DJ/producer grooveman Spot, who produces/remixes for various artists both in Japan and overseas, and also releases works under his own name. With a fat beat, the song depicts the attachment and hope people have to life, and the lyrics make us reexamine the meaning of life that we tend to lose sight of in our daily lives, and reaffirm the joy of living.

The music video is also scheduled to premiere today, May 31st (Friday) at 9pm. Directed by Emiri Torihata, the video expresses the beauty found in ordinary daily life and the freshness of the breeze passing by by shining a spotlight on small, everyday occurrences and moments.

[Swagcky comment]

I wrote this song after a friend of mine, who is an artist, asked me to write a song for him because he was thinking of giving a painting as a gift to a fan of his, and he is also a fan of Swagcky. The friend had been told that he had only a short time left to live, so I wrote this song hoping to cheer him up even just a little.

I’m sure everyone has times when they lose hope in life. I wrote this song hoping that at times like these, it will give people an opportunity to think about what they can do because they’re still alive, and why they’re alive in this world.
