Jamie xx has announced that he will release his new album, “In Waves,” on Wednesday, September 18th. The lead single, “Treat Each Other Right,” has also been released.

Jamie xx, a producer/DJ who is also known as a member of The xx, teamed up with photographer and film director Rosie Marks to create the music video for his lead single “Treat Each Other Right.”

Nearly nine years after their first album, In Colour, In Waves is their second album and features 12 tracks, including the pre-release single, collaborations with Honey Dijon, Robyn, The Avalanches, Kelsey Lu, John Glacier, Panda Bear, Oona Doherty, and The xx bandmates Romy and Oliver Sim.

Approximately four years in the making, the film weaves together a period of self-reflection, a global pandemic, the return of flashing strobe lights, and a newfound love of surfing as an escape.

The album will be released in Japan on CD and LP on Wednesday, September 18th, and digitally on Friday, September 20th. The Japanese CD version will include the single “It’s So Good,” released for the soundtrack of the CHANEL COCO CRUSH campaign, as a bonus track, and will also include a booklet. In addition, the Japanese CD and Japanese obi LP versions will be released with a limited edition T-shirt. In addition to the regular version, the LP will be released in a limited edition (white vinyl), a Japanese obi LP version (white vinyl), and a Harajuku BIG LOVE RECORDS limited edition (clear vinyl).
