Awich was appointed as the “Okinawa Global Ambassador”.
Awich, a rapper from Okinawa, will be appearing at one of the world’s largest music festivals, Coachella 2024, and is expanding her horizons beyond Japan to the world. She has always maintained love, respect, and a desire to represent her hometown Okinawa, even in her activities aimed at the world, such as the viral hit “RASEN in OKINAWA” released with her Okinawa friends, and “Queendom” in Korean, which describes her feelings for Okinawa, where she was born and raised, in the popular Korean YouTube project “Killing Verse.” Her influence overseas and her past attitude led to her being appointed as an ambassador.
The inauguration ceremony and press conference will be held in Naha, Okinawa on Monday, June 10th.
