Rapper maco marets’ first poetry collection, “Lepido and Dendron,” will be published on Saturday, June 15th.

Maco Marets is a rapper born in 1995 and currently based in Tokyo. Since his debut with his first album “Orang.Pendek” in 2016, he has gained enduring popularity with his calm, introspective “bedroom hip-hop” rap style and lyrics filled with simple, poetic sentiment.

This book, released on the 8th anniversary of his CD debut, contains 25 pieces, including newly written pieces and works published in street culture magazines such as HIDDEN CHAMPION Magazine and 3.5 magazine since 2021. Even in his soft language, he exudes a rough melancholy – this is a book that allows you to enjoy the ambivalent rhythm and imagination unique to the poet maco marets.

Another major feature of this book is that, although it is a book, it is designed to be the same size (square) as maco marets’ previously released CDs and 7-inch records. maco marets himself said, “I wanted to express a sense of continuity with the music I have released so far,” and the look of the book makes it a work that can be enjoyed like a “silent rap album.”
