Beatport to hold meetup event/workshop “IMS Connect in Tokyo”

The community event “IMS Connect,” hosted by music distribution site Beatport, will be held at WALL&WALL in Omotesando, Tokyo on Thursday, June 27th.

Founded by DJ Pete Tong in 2007 with the aim of strengthening connections within the music industry, the event consists of talks, workshops and DJ sets and is known as one of Ibiza’s most iconic events.

This will be the first time the event is held in Tokyo, and will feature a DJ workshop by Beatport ambassador Risa Taniguchi, a production workshop by Rhizomatiks founder Daito Manabe, a Q&A session by world-renowned DJ Nobu, and DJ performances by SAMO and Stones Taro.

In addition, all participants will receive the Excite Audio plug-in “Lifeline Expanse Lite” and “Lifeline Console Lite” ($98, approximately 15,000 yen equivalent). This is likely to be a valuable networking event for people working in the music industry, such as labels and booking agents.

Beatport’s mission is to expand IMS Connect to cities around the world, with upcoming events planned in New York and Melbourne.
