It has been announced that Jamaica-based deejay ZENDAMAN will release his new album “Neo Tokiwa” on June 20th (Thursday) through MEDZ MUSIC.
In recent years, he has documented his life in Jamaica.YouTube channel “Zenda Mi Zenda”In 2022, ZENDAMAN made a triumphant return to Japan and held a live concert in 2023.
The album features ARIWA (ASOUND), Jr.SANTA (39-MAN), U the Starr, and other up-and-coming DJs/singers who are making their mark on the album for the first time, with the theme of “same generation.” In addition, Okinawan rapper/producer CHOUJI also participated. All the songs were produced by GACHA (MEDZ MUSIC), and the sessions were recorded in Jamaica.
The album was titled “Neo Tokiwa,” a reference to the reggae crew of the same generation that came together in the late 1990s to dominate the Osaka reggae scene, and was intended as an explosive work that would usher in a new era of Japanese reggae.
In addition, a release concert for this work will be held at SPACE ODD in Daikanyama, Tokyo on Thursday, July 18. Tickets are currently on sale.
A new generation reggae movement that brings much needed positive vibes to modern Japanese society, which continues to evolve even today.

Zendaman and the artists of the Neo Tokiwa generation connected in Jamaica, an island in the Caribbean Sea known as the birthplace of reggae, and this album “Neo Tokiwa” was born. It is said that we live in an age where you can find out anything by searching the Internet, but the energy and vibes you experience live cannot be conveyed through a screen.
He traveled to Jamaica to study and train in the culture, developed his own original style, and brought the reggae vibe to Japan.
