Disk Yurion will release the double A-side single “Alien/Disk Yurion’s Dream Trance” on 8cm CD on Sunday, July 7th.
Disc Yurion is a J-POP DJ who only plays 8cm CDs (short CDs) and is also a nerdcore musician. This is his second 8cm CD and features two tracks: a cover of “Uchuujin” by KOJI-12000, a music project by comedian Koji Imada and musician Towa Tei, and “Disc Yurion’s Dream Trance,” a collaboration with DJ Shimamura, who has been at the forefront of the Japanese hardcore techno scene and enjoys worldwide popularity.
The duet song “Uchuujin” features guest vocals from SSW Nakatsu Mao, who also attracted attention with her 8cm CD release. Sound production was handled by MEEBEE aka KAZUHIRO ABO, an old friend of Disk Yuri-on and a big fan of planning, following on from the previous work “Convenience Store” (Sarugan Seki cover).
In addition, “Disk Yurion’s Dream Trance,” a strange work that fully incorporates Disk Yurion’s nerdcoreism, was produced according to Disk Yurion’s instructions, and is a trance music with an exaggeratedly dramatic and emotional development. Furthermore, Disk Yurion’s overly passionate one-man performance is added to it, making it a hot and steamy content that will keep listeners on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
The cover art is by Shun Suzuki, and the design is by Fumina Nishino, just like the previous album. A fluorescent tray is used. In addition, a download code for the sound source is also included for those who cannot listen to the 8cm CD.
This work is scheduled to be released mainly at CD shops nationwide to coincide with the event “Tanzaku CD Day 2024” to be held on Sunday, July 7th.
