Yukkyun releases single “Shuttle Bus” for 4 consecutive months to everyone who didn’t go to the afterparty

Yukkyun will release her new single “Shuttle Bus” on Friday, June 14th.

Yukkyun has been releasing her second album, “Umaenakaranai Anata” for four consecutive months since May, in preparation for its release on Wednesday, September 11th. This second release was composed, arranged and performed by jazz pianist Misaki Umei, and mixed by her good friend, Hiroki Kimijima. The song is composed only for piano and vocals, and is dedicated to “everyone who didn’t go to the after-party.”

Also, starting in June, Yukkyun will be holding “Yukkyun 10th Anniversary Two-Man Project DIVA & YOU” for three consecutive months. On Sunday, June 16th, she will perform with Tokuri at Enoshima Oppa-La in Kanagawa, on Tuesday, July 23rd at Shindaita FEVER in Tokyo with Shibata Satoko, and on Friday, August 23rd at Shimokitazawa Shangri-La with Kimijima Sora. I first met Yuki-kun last fall.
Before submitting my graduation project (thesis), when I was feeling mentally exhausted, I was secretly helped by the existence of Yukkyun (music).
And then, less than two weeks after we first met, we decided to do a remix, and I ended up playing piano in the band.
I never thought the day would come when we would be working on an album together in this way…!
We wanted to create a song with just piano and vocals, so we worked together on “Shuttle Bus” (the title is genius).
I think this song will give you a different impression when you listen to it as a single than when you listen to it as a whole album.
I wanted to express it more simply, but it was impossible. Please listen!

For two years, I had been thinking that if I was going to make a J-POP album, one of the songs needed to be just piano and vocals.
Then Umei-san appeared on the scene as a rising star — no, a meteorite beyond imagination — and
I asked him to create a song called “Shuttle Bus” by conveying the protagonist’s personality, the scene, his feelings, and the story in words.
It’s a fun place with lots of people. I enjoy my time there from the bottom of my heart, but at the same time, I sometimes feel a little uneasy.
Well, there are. But those are feelings I don’t want to have inside me, so that’s why I sing.
To those who missed the happy party. To everyone who didn’t go to the after-party. To those who disappeared without catching the shuttle bus home.
You tried so hard not to tell anyone, not to disturb anyone, but I couldn’t help but hear your voices.
