Ginger Root releases new song “Better Than Monday” from their new album “SHINBANGUMI”

Ginger Root’s new album “SHINBANGUMI” (pronounced: Shinbangumi), which will be released on Friday, September 13th, has released the lead single “Better Than Monday” today, Wednesday, June 19th.

Ginger Root is a project by Cameron Lew, a multi-instrumentalist, producer, songwriter and visual artist from California, who recently performed at Fuji Rock Festival last year.

Of the track, which mocks the universal fear of the week resetting, he said: “I wanted to explore what it would sound like to mash up lo-fi intimacy with hi-fi energy. Lyrically, I wanted to poke fun at how much I hate certain days of the week. No matter how bad something is, somehow it’s always better than Monday.”

The video, directed by Cameron Lew and David Gutel, also premiered, continuing the story that began in the album’s lead single, “No Problems.”

Ginger Root will also be holding a one-day pop-up shop at Tower Records in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka starting on Friday, June 21st. They will be holding a Japan tour in the same five cities in January next year.
