Plain Jay releases second pre-release single “Change” from upcoming mixtape

Rapper Plain Jay released his new single “Change” today, Friday, June 21st.

Plain Jay is based in Sendai and is also a member of the collective S4L, which he formed with Fukushima producer KaworuMF and his younger brother, rapper Huncho Fox. He also made waves with his appearances on Abema’s “Rap Star Birth 2023” and “03-Perfomance.”

This is the second single from his upcoming mixtape, Only One Jay. The track features a serious Michigan beat by KaworuMF, and powerful lyrics about turning stress and tragedy into music to improve the situation.

The mix was done by KaworuMF, who also did the beat, and the mastering was done by Abe Yoshitaka of Fukushima’s recording studio “Switch”. The artwork was created by Wise Graphics, following the single “Only One Jay” released in May. The music video is also scheduled to be released on Wednesday, June 26th.

[Plain Jay comment]

I’ve decided to release the songs that I especially want everyone to hear first. The songs that are released first generally come with a music video, so I hope you enjoy those too.
I will decide when to release the mixtape based on what’s going on around me. When the mixtape is released, it will be a big step forward for Plain Jay as a rapper.
Also, songs that are not included in the mixtape will be released around July. The next song will feature a guest appearance, so please look forward to it.
