18scott has released the music video for “Keep Risin’ Freestyle” from their latest album, Rise And Fall Like Tides, released in April.
“Keep Risin’ Freestyle” is a song that uses humorous wordplay to sing about the thrilling life where you never know when it might crash, and the positive message of accepting that and simply living in the “now.” The beat boldly samples a memorable phrase from a Japanese pop song.
The music video was directed by Ken Yoshimura, who has worked on Yvng Patra and Spada, and expresses the unique atmosphere of the song through varied camera work and impressive direction.
[18scott comment]
This album was made with the overall theme of my real emotional ups and downs, and Keep Risin’ Freestyle is a song I wrote on impulse when I was really upbeat. I usually spend days writing lyrics, but this song was written on impulse, almost like a freestyle, so I think it’s super fresh and I like it the best on the album. That said, I’m a born lyricist, so I sing about some pretty important things. It would be great if you could find what I want to say hidden in the pop lyrics. A lot of people helped out with the video, and it turned out really cool. Thank you so much, Ken. Everyone, watch this and get pumped.
