Shōtaro Aoyama releases new song “Once” featuring Shota Aratani today

Shōtaro Aoyama released his new single “Once feat. Shota Aratani” today, Wednesday, June 26th.

Shōtaro Aoyama is known for participating in the project “NF” led by Sakanaction’s Ichiro Yamaguchi, and for running his own label “Hyōgu”. This song features guest vocals from Shota Aratani, former vocalist of yonawo and a string of solo releases.

The track, which is in keeping with the grunge worldview that Araya creates, is reminiscent of UK garage sound making. The result is a song with a nostalgic and emotional atmosphere that can be felt in the city.

[Comment from Shōtaro Aoyama]

Ever since his days in yonawo, the music Aratani-kun has created has been linked to his inner self, and I have felt a core to his kindness.
The emotional melodies and words that Aratani creates are somehow sad and nostalgic.
I also directed the promotional video, and I tried to express the world through pale scenes and a film-like texture.
I think I was able to express it as dance music that is focused on the Japanese language while still preserving his unique worldview.
The flowing piano and vocals make this a perfect song to end a night’s party or for the early morning.
