A teaser video for all the songs on A-ko’s first album “GENE,” which will be released on Wednesday, July 10th, has been released.
The video was shot in Austin, Texas, USA, where A-ko performed at the music festival SXSW in March this year. A-ko, disguised as an interviewer, has SXSW attendees listen to songs from the album and report back on their impressions. It features straightforward responses from people who have listened to the songs, such as “This should be heard all over Japan,” and “It’s sure to be a big hit,” as well as scenes of people getting excited and dancing freely with A-ko, making for a very varied video. You can hear all the songs on the album ahead of time, along with people’s reactions, so be sure to check it out.
The album “GENE” includes 13 songs including “Atashi no Zenbu wo Aiseni” and “Wakusei”. The Blu-ray “MACHINE” includes newly shot acoustic live footage and a documentary of the backstage at “SXSW”.
A-ko will also be holding her first free live show, “Good News Sessions,” on Tuesday, July 23rd at Club eX in Shinagawa, Tokyo. Those who preorder or purchase “GENE” during the period will be given a serial code, and will be invited by lottery. The first reception (limited to Tower Records online preorders) will close at 18:30 on Friday, June 28th.
