Mime to release new single “Borderline” for the first time in a year and a half

It has been announced that Mime will release a new single, “Borderline,” on Wednesday, July 3rd.

Mime is an R&B/neo-soul band consisting of four members: Hikari (Va.), who has participated in vocals on many Tokimeki Records albums, Uchino Hayato (Gt.), Kondo Kunihiko (Key.), and TiMT (Dr.), each of whom is engaged in a wide range of activities including separate projects and supporting other artists.

This is the first new song to be released in about a year and a half since her third album, Bloom (2022). This work is a romantic indie R&B with a melancholic 90’s to early 00’s atmosphere. It is a song that features an iconic fresh sound with gut guitar and harp tones that resonate with Janet Jackson, Aaliyah, and Erika de Casier and PinkPantheress, who are influenced by them.

In addition, the new artist visuals and artwork were created by Ryutaro Izaki, an up-and-coming photographer and long-time friend of Mime.
