Tokushima-born rapper T-STONE released his third EP “Ai” today, Tuesday, July 2nd.
This work is based on the theme of “expressing rock music,” which he has loved for a long time. All the songs incorporate rock-style guitar phrases, and are a fusion of rock and hip-hop.
The album contains three songs: “Himawari”, a message song about facing past failures and conflicts while looking forward and aiming higher, “Metro”, a jazzy song produced by NEWLY, and “Shirasagi”, a rock song about various life choices such as moving from his hometown of Tokushima to Tokyo. The title “Indigo” is a reference to the culture of indigo dyeing that is deeply rooted in his hometown of Tokushima, and also contains the meaning of the homonyms “I”, “love” and “EYE”.
This is his first solo work without any guest appearances, and legendary rapper Zeebra commented, “Not only has the lyrics become more persuasive, but your expressiveness has also improved, so I’m looking forward to your future work.” The content conveys T-STONE’s personality even more.
[Zeebra comment]
This EP is a further polished version of the original “unassuming coolness” that they have been using. Not only are the lyrics more persuasive, but their expressiveness has also improved, so I’m looking forward to seeing what they do next! This is a straight-ball battle, so take it seriously!
