Keiichi Sogabe and beatmaker Junes K collaborate to release co-written song “Breath”

The collaborative single “Breath” by Sogabe Keiichi and Junes K will be released on Wednesday, July 3rd.

Junes K is a Fukuoka-based beatmaker who has been attracting attention for his work on last year’s release “Love feat. Tamaki ROY & Keiichi Sogabe” and his triple collaboration with TOMC and Yo Irie, “Koi no Koto.” This work is a collage beat by Junes K, which exquisitely cuts up the stories, memories, and scenes contained in many records, and the flow of Keiichi Sogabe, who roars with a deep mellowness.

In contrast to the sweetness of the music they play, the lyrics also contain a sharp gaze that denounces the absurdity and indifference we live in today. Sogabe, who has sung protest songs with various approaches, including his solo debut song “Guitar,” “Long Night” (2009), “Anti-War Song” (2020), and “Beginners” (2022), will be asking the world in a more direct way.

Even if it doesn’t get through to you
Even if no one wakes up
But now I start writing poetry
I won’t kill you anymore
