Doona to release first EP “Humanistic Psychology” in August & hold release party

Five-piece band Doona have announced that they will be releasing their first EP, “Humanistic Psychology,” on Wednesday, August 21st.

Formed in 2023, Doona has been attracting attention for its musicality rooted in black music and powerful live performances. It started as a solo project by GENKI (Vo.), and then began performing as a band when SOTA (Gt.) and RYO (Ba.), who attended the same vocational school, joined as regular members. RINTA (Key.) and ZACKY (Dr.), who attended a different vocational school, joined the band, forming the current lineup.

This album contains a total of five songs, including the currently released “APE” and “Green Tips” as well as three new songs. It seems to have become a calling card that shows who Doona is.

In addition, an event to celebrate the release of the EP will be held on Thursday, September 26th at BASEMENT BAR in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo. In addition to live performances by fellow bandmates luv and SAR, DJs Leno (Billyrrom) and Shun will also be appearing. Tickets are on sale from today, Wednesday, July 3rd.
