Floating Points to release new album “Cascade” in September, featuring Dan Snaith, Hikaru Utada and others

Floating Points have announced that they will release their new album, “Cascade,” on Friday, September 13th.

In recent years, Sam Shepherd, known as Floating Points, has been in the spotlight for his collaboration with Pharoah Sanders and the London Symphony Orchestra, “Promises,” and for co-producing Hikaru Utada’s album “BAD MODE.” His third album, “Cascade,” features musicians such as Dan Snaith, known for his work with Caribou and Daphni, Stella Mozgawa, the drummer for Warpaint, and Hikaru Utada.

The album is based on the mind-expanding and emotionally purifying appeal of the wide variety of electronic music that Floating Points encountered during their youth in Manchester, and while it is a sequel to Crush, it takes Floating Points’ sound to the next level. Compared to the previous album, each track is longer and explores a wider range of sounds and grooves.

The lead single “KEY103” from the album was also released today. The music video was also released.

“Cascade” will be released worldwide on Friday, September 13th on CD, LP, and digital/streaming. The Japanese CD version will include the bonus track “Ocotillo (Ambient Mix)” and a commentary booklet. In addition to the regular LP version (black vinyl), the LP will also be released in a limited edition (Universal Sparkle Vinyl) and a first-run limited edition with Japanese obi (Universal Sparkle Vinyl). In addition, the Japanese CD and Japanese obi LP will also be available in a set with a T-shirt.

Floating Points has also been confirmed to headline “RED MARQUEE” at “FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL’24” to be held this month.
