“Roses and Beasts” by Cornelius from the cover album “HOSONO HOUSE COVER” was released today, Wednesday, July 10th.
“HOSONO HOUSE COVER” is a collection of covers by various artists from Japan and abroad of songs from Haruomi Hosono’s first album “HOSONO HOUSE” (1973), which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year. So far, “Boku wa Issun” by Mac DeMarco, “Fuyugoe” by Yuma Abe (never young beach), and “Fuku wa Uin Oni wa Soto (feat. The Mizuhara Sisters)” by John Carroll Kirby have been released in advance.
Cornelius, who is celebrating their 30th anniversary and still going strong with world tours and releases, has covered “Rose and the Beast.” The cover artwork was done by Keiko Aikawa.
[Comment from Cornelius]
Congratulations on the 55th anniversary of your debut, Hosono-san.
I am also turning 55 this year, and I think Hosono was around 55 years old when I first worked with him on the Sketch Show.
It feels like time has flown by, but it’s been over 20 years since then, and although the situation has changed in many ways, I’m still happy to be involved with Hosono’s music in this way.
I hope you stay healthy forever!
Keigo Oyamada
