Michel Ko releases “Joyride,” his first new song in about a year, about the blindness of love

Michel Ko released his new single “Joyride” today, Wednesday, July 10th.

Michel Ko is a singer-songwriter with roots in Japan and Taiwan. He has also attracted attention for his collaborations with Wez Atlas and SPENSR. This work, released about a year after his previous work, is an R&B number with a sound inspired by 80’s synth pop and a smooth, husky singing voice. The song compares a thrilling love affair where fun and danger intersect to a fast and reckless “joyride” (driving recklessly in a stolen car), and depicts the blindness of love, where one is at the mercy of an attractive woman.
