jo0ji releases new song “Dasha” themed on a friend’s heartbreak. The music video also features a swarm of colorful squids dancing.

Jo0ji, an artist from Tottori Prefecture, released his new single “Dasha” (pronounced “dasa”) today, July 10th (Wednesday). The music video was also released.

This song is about the heartbreak of jo0ji’s local friend. The song expresses the strength of the friend who overcomes a relationship that ended in disaster after being manipulated by a useless man and turns it into a laughing matter through powerful yet sad lyrics, melody, and composition. The ending is a grand development that is like the end credits of a movie. The cover artwork was created by Shintaro Kira, who also worked on the first EP “475” and the single “Escaper”.

The music video is a fusion of live action and animation, and was directed by creative unit Margt, who have worked on many of jo0ji’s music videos, and animation director Ryoji Yamada. Colorful squids are dancing in jo0ji’s hometown of Tottori, and the hordes of squids filling the screen are impressive, as if linking with the emotions conveyed in the song.
