Spotify has released its Japanese rankings, looking back at the first half of 2024 based on this year’s listening data.
The most played song in Japan in the first half of this year was “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” by Creepy Nuts. The song is the fastest song in Japan to reach 100 million plays, and it also topped Spotify Japan’s daily charts for 125 consecutive days from January 18 to May 21, 2024.
In second place is tuki.’s “Dinner Song.” Its popularity began to spread on social media around autumn 2023, and it has been a long-running hit on Spotify. In January 2024, it was selected for Spotify’s “RADAR: Early Noise 2024,” and on January 22nd, it reached No. 2 on the Japanese daily chart for the first time, and continued to be in the top 10 for more than four months.
Also, in ninth place is Number_i’s first single “GOAT,” which began its musical activities in January 2024. After releasing songs, Number_i has released a number of Spotify-exclusive content such as “Clips” (vertical short videos of less than 30 seconds) and artist playlists. In the Clips released at the time of the release of “GOAT,” each member talks about the highlights of “GOAT” from the perspective of singing and dancing.
Following the domestic ranking, the most played Japanese song overseas in the first half of the year was Creepy Nuts’ “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born,” followed in second by Fujii Kaze’s “Shin wo Gai wa” and in third place by King Gnu’s “SPECIALZ.”
Over 60% of plays of “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” are from overseas, and as of July 11th, the countries and regions where it has been played the most, excluding Japan, are the United States, Mexico, Indonesia, Germany, and France.

was ranked once again, confirming its long-lasting popularity due to the nature of streaming.

In Japan, the song that was most shared on social media in the first half of the year on Spotify was JO1’s “Love seeker.” In second place was Number_i’s “GOAT,” and in third place was Travis Japan’s “TGI Friday Night.” As with last year, artists with strong fandoms are occupying the top spots.
