Julia Shortreed of Black Boboi launches new project Quantum Orange

Quantum Orange, a unit formed by Julia Shortreed, who also works in Black Boboi, and Berlin-based artist Rosa Anschütz, has launched. Their first EP, “DIP-DYE,” was released today, July 13th (Sat).

This album was produced and recorded in Berlin last summer with Jan Wagner as engineer and producer. It presents Quantum Orange’s unique sound and worldview, where brightness and tranquility, delicacy and emotion are naturally combined.

In addition, this release will be the catalyst for Quantum Orange’s first live performance, welcoming Rosa, who will be coming to Japan from Berlin. A special event will be held on Saturday, July 20th at WALL&WALL in Omotesando, Tokyo, with Phew as a co-star. In addition, the day before, on Friday, July 19th, a joint event will be held at the German Embassy Goethe-Institut Tokyo with Black Boboi.

Those who attend the event on both days will be given a special gift, an orange or postcard autographed by Quantum Orange.
