Hana Hope to release new song “Summertime Blues” with Shappo joining the performance

It has been announced that Hana Hope will release her new single “Summertime Blues” on Wednesday, August 7th.

This work is based on a track arranged by sound producer TOM, who has worked on the works and arrangements of many artists such as SIRUP, Tokimeki Records, and Miliyah Kato, and is performed by the instrumental band Shappo, consisting of Oto Fukuhara (Gt. / etc.) and Yuta Hosono (Ba. / etc.), who released the 7-inch single “Fukidashi” from Kakubarizm. It is a danceable yet chill summer tune with a pleasant mix of Japanese and English, and lyrics that depict a faint summer love.

This will be the first time Hosono Yuta and Hana Hope have performed together in approximately five years since the tribute concert “Yellow Magic Children – The Genes of YMO 40 Years Later” held in 2019 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the formation of YMO.

The artist visuals, artwork, and music video creative were produced by Hypebae Japan, a media outlet for women from Hypebeast Japan, which provides information on the latest street fashion, art, design, music, and more.

Julie Giesen is the video director and total director for the artist visuals and artwork, and Takako Noel is in charge of stills. The music video will be posted on Hana Hope’s SNS in the future as it is released in full.

In addition, a two-man live with Abe Fuyumi will be held at WALL&WALL in Omotesando, Tokyo on Sunday, August 11th. Anticipation is building for the performance of new songs.
