Hasegawa Hakushi releases pre-release single "Horror Star" from new album; special program also to be streamed on DOMMUNE

Hasegawa Hakushi has released a new pre-release single, “Star of Fear,” from his new album, “Magic School,” which will be released on Wednesday, July 24th.

The song features horn arrangement by Miho Hasama, making it one of the most dazzling and turbulent pieces on the album. The music video, created by animator/artist Shu Yonezawa, was also released.

The planet of fear reminded me of a planet of tears, and I drew an anime of running through an ocean of tears and a desert. When I first received and listened to the song, there were so many voices, and I felt like myself, but not myself, and even though I felt that my self was becoming uncertain, unstable, and multifaceted, the lines of the music allowed Anima to simply exist there. The more I listen, the more I can see and hear the voices. Please listen carefully with the subtitles. I would like to thank Yagifujiro, who designed the logo, Sou Kurosaki, who gave me courage by talking to me about the shape of the voice, and all the assistants.

In addition, a special program to commemorate the album’s release, “Hasegawa Hakushi 2nd Album “Magic School” Release Commemoration Special Program,” will be live streamed on DOMMUNE (9th floor, Shibuya Parco, Tokyo) on Tuesday, July 22nd, the day before the album’s release.

In addition to talk by the performers, the program will feature a listening corner where you can listen to the album before its release, as well as a special mini-live performance by Hasegawa Hakushi, making this a special program to celebrate the release of the band’s second album, their first in four years and eight months.
