Shota Aratani has announced that he will release his new single “Ame” on August 23rd (Wednesday) through Universal Music’s Polydor Records. A teaser video filmed in Taiwan has also been released.
He made his major debut in 2019 as the vocalist of the four-member band yonawo from Fukuoka. In addition to being the songwriter for all of their songs, he has been active in a wide range of fields as a musician, including providing songs to King & Prince and singing on songs by androp and TAIKING (Suchmos). He began his solo career in earnest in 2024, releasing “Namida”, “Aikotoba”, and “Shion” in three consecutive months since April.
The new song “Ame” was arranged by knoak, and features a jazzy arrangement featuring brass and piano, and is a challenging song with stimulating lyrics that leave a strong impression. We look forward to seeing the expansion of his musicality as he makes his major debut as a solo artist.
Advance reservations for “Ame” have started from today, and tickets for the 5-city tour “Shodai Aratani 1st ONE MAN LIVE TOUR “26””, his first solo live performance with a band, are also on general sale. Check them out.
